A Good Day awaits us as we celebrate Halloween and Dio De Los Muertos and prepare for All Saints Day (November 1) and All Souls Day (November 2).
Pastor Jim’s sermon will be “The Gospel of Halloween.”
The central scripture in our worship will be Romans 14: 7-9 – We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves. If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.
A quote from Jim’s sermon – At its best, the season of Halloween is an expression of the ancient faith that to live is to die and that to die is to live. It is an honest confession that while there is much we do not yet know, there is also much that God has in store for us.
There will be an education time for children during worship. Children, even adults, are invited to wear their costumes to church.
Bible Study follows worship on LABC Zoom at 11:45.
