Advent is a four-week season leading up to Christmas that centers us as we prepare for this holy day. Through various Advent activities, such as worship, devotional reading, and participating in the preparations for Christmas, we are able focus not just on the festivities of the season, but the deeper meaning of welcoming Emmanuel, meaning God with us, into our hearts and lives once again.
Advent lifts up the themes of hope, peace, joy and love. It provides a time for reflection, preparation and moments of stillness in which we can listen for God and meditate prayerfully on the hope of God, the peace of Christ, the joy of fellowship and the love of community.
We hope you can celebrate the season Advent with Lakeshore!
