March 4, 2014

Greetings,

We stand again on doorway to Lent. I invite you to join us tonight for at Soup and Study for a Mardi Gras Feast prepared by Gloria Meads, to participate in one of our Ash Wednesday Vigils (7:30-8:00 a.m., 12-1 p.m., 5-6p.m.), to pick up one of the Lenten devotional guides and to join us in worship and study on Sunday morning as seek to embrace and understand the “Jesus Creed,” Jesus’ instruction to Love God with heart, soul, mind and strength and to love our Neighbor as ourselves.

In worship on March 9

Sermon Title: Repenting for the Rest of Us

Central Scripture: I John 1:1-2:2

Focus Verse: “If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive our sins.”

Main Thought: It is often true that, in the words of singer Elton John, “Sorry seems to be the hardest word.” Yet, at the heart of our faith, is the understanding that sorry is a most important word as well.
