You Can Help the Hunger Task Force
The Hunger Task Force is looking for a few volunteers to assist with the recycling program. They need folks to make a one-hour commitment Wednesday mornings. For more information, please contact Jesse Lucas (510.459.0410).
From the Hunger Task Force
On the first Sunday of each month during the Fellowship offering, the youth bring a grocery cart down the aisle to collect donations of nonperishable grocery items from the congregation for our grocery bags.
Members of the HTF volunteer to buy groceries on a monthly basis. We make up 10 brown bags after church on the 1st Sunday and replenish them as needed during the month. We distribute about 20 bags per month to help those in need.
Bags contain the following: cereal, peanut butter, jam, mac and cheese, canned fruit and vegetables, spaghetti sauce, pasta, rice, beans, soup, chili, tuna, and Maruchan noodle packs.
We also make bags for homeless people–portable food needing no preparation such as fruit cups, granola bars, pop-top soup cans, and fruit snacks.
We invite you to bring donations of food on the 1st Sunday of the month, and if you would like to help fill bags, please join us after church!
